George Subkoff has over 40 years of experience in the field of American,
Continental, English, French, and Asian Antiques and Decorative
Art from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. He works not only with
dealers and interior designers throughout the world, but also sells
to the serious or begriming collector. Many of the pieces he has
handled are now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Cracie Mansion,
Boscobel Restoration, Richard Jenerette's many house collections,
and the George Kauffman collection, among others.
— This dealer's personal philosophy is one of diversity; while
most dealers specialize increasingly in very narrow fields, he has
always tried not to limit himself. He likes to see houses with varied
collections that reflect the mixed nature of our culture and society
as a whole. After all, that is essentially what makes America the
strongest and most diverse art market in the world.
